In 1868, the parish of Ballintemple contained the following places:

"BALLINTEMPLE, a parish in the barony of Arklow, in the county of Wicklow, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles to the N.W. of Arklow. It lies in a fertile district at the confluence of the river Derry with the Ovoca. Gold and copper have been found here in small quantities. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Dublin Glendalagh, and Kildare, of the value of £101, and in the patronage of W. Bryan, Esq. From the higher grounds there is a beautiful prospect over the valley of the Ovoca."
