Prestonkirk parish church is a plain building, erected in 1770, repaired and enlarged in 1824 and recast in 1891-2. However, its chancel incorporates the E end and much truncated side walls of the 13th century church, dedicated to St Baldred, which occupied this site. There has evidently been some restoration, but this still represents the most interesting example of 13th century church architecture in Lothian. (Source - Canmore)
Copies of Chris Tabraham's "Prestonkirk Parish Church : A short history and tour of the church" are available for reference in East Lothian libraries.
OPRs (Old Parish Registers) exist from 1658 for both Births and Marriages, with deaths from 1846.

At the time of writing (2023), the IWM database does not record the names of the fallen on the WW1 tablet in the churchyard. Inside the church is a communion table, with a plaque recording the WW2 fallen. This is detailed on the IWM database.
