It was founded before 1893, initally as a United Persybyterian congregation, moving into the current building in 1902, around the time the congregation became a United Free Church. In 1929, the church joined the Church of Scotland.
The church merged in 1979 with Tynecastle to form Gorgie Parish, then with St Colms in 2011, finally merging with Stenhouse St Aidans in 2016, to form "GDS".
The building remains in use (2019) as part of the GDS group.
