It was founded in 1128. It closed in 1567.
Abbey founded in 1128 by David I. Rebuilt in 1387 after 1322 burning by Edward II. 1559 - used as Canongate parish church. 1567 Nobles laid waste to the Abbey. 1686 conveted into Roman Catholic Chapel by James VII. 1687, Chapel given to Knights of Thistle.
