The church here was in use between 1877 and 1959, however, the building was actually a partial reconstruction of the Trinity Church demolished, (along with Lady Glenorchy's) to make way for the railway and Waverley station. In the 24 years between demolition, and reconstruction, much of the stone went missing from its storage area on Calton Hill, resulting in only a partial reconstruction being possible.

Congregation joined Lady Glenorchy's South, to form Holy Trinity.
