"LOGIE-EASTER, a parish partly in the county Ross, and partly in the county Cromarty, Scotland, 5 miles S.S.W. of Tain, and 2 N. of Parkhill. It is about 7 miles in length, and 2 in breadth. The soil is in some parts deep stiff clay, and in others approaches to a light loam. Sands have been extensively reclaimed, and the parish contains some flourishing plantations. Wheat is the chief grain crop. The parish is in the presbytery of Tain and synod of Ross. The minister's stipend is £237. The parish church is a commodious structure. There is a Free church, also an Assembly school at Scotsburn. The chief seats are Shandwick and Calrossie. There are some cairns near Albanich burn, and tumuli, and mineral springs, in the neighbourhood."
