[Description(s) from The National Gazetteer (1868)] "LLANDULAS, (or New Church In Tyr Abbot), a parish in the hundred of Builth, county Brecon, 13 miles S.W. of Builth, its post town, and 14 N.W. of Brecon. It is situated at the foot of the lofty hill Mynydd Epynt, and is watered by a tributary of the river Wye. The Roman road, Via Julia Montana, passes through it. Rhys ap Gruffydd gave it to the Abbey of Strata Florida, which he founded. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of St. David's, value £43. The church is a small structure."
