The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Llan Ilar contained the following places:

"LLAN-ILAR, a parish in the hundred of Upper Ilar, county Cardigan, 8 miles from Aberystwith, its post town, and 10 from Tregaron. The parish includes the townships of Lower and Upper Llan-Ilar. The living is a vicarage* in the diocese of St. David's, value £95, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is dedicated to St. Hilary. The parochial charities produce about £14 per annum."
