- There is some confusion between this chapel and one of the same name in Mydrim parish according to coflein
- There is only one entry on Coflein, for one in Myrdim village, but it has the same details for the one in this parish e.g built 1769 and rebuilt in 1812 which details correspond to those recorded under Church Records for this parish and most importantly there is an entry in the 1851 Religious census for this one under Llanfihangel Abercywyn parish
- There are also two different pictures of this chapel on coflein, I suspect that coflein has confused it with Bethel Methodist chapel in Mydrim village, but can't be 100% sure, the NLS 1900 map clearly shows the Meidrim chapel as methodist
- See geograph.org for a picture of this chapel where the plaque reads "Salem- Capel y Bedyddwyr - 1769 - 1923(?) and the supporting map shows it near Esgair
- The most likely explanation is that the Meidrim village Salem didn't exist but this can't be confirmed with 100% certainty
