 Justices assigned to hear and determine diverse felonies trespasses and other misfeaziences in the County of Carmarthen Greeting we being willing for certain causes to be certified of all and singular the Indictment or Indictments of whatsoever transgressions Riots Routs unlawful assemblies forcible entries and other Articles and offences whereupon Evan John late of the parish of Llanstephan in the said county Farmer, William Williams the elder late of the same Farmer and William Williams late of the parish of Llangunnock in the same County Farmer in the same Indictment or Indictments named or indicted before you or command you and every of you that all and singular the said Indictment or Indictments with all things touching the same by whatsoever names the said Evan John, William Williams and William Williams are named in the same you send and under your Seals or the seal of one of you to our Justices of our Great Sessions to be holden in and for the said County of Carmarthen the first day of our next Great Sessions to be holden in and for the said County wherever the same shall happen to be kept in and for the said County together with this Writ so that our said Justices may cause to be further done therein what of right and according to the Law and custom of our Kingdom of Great Britain ought to be Done therein.  Witness ourself at Carmarthen the Twenty Sixth Day of April in the Fifty fourth year of our Reign.

Carmarthenshire to wit}


                                                  Be it remembered that at the General Quarter Sessions of the peace of our Sovereign Lord the King holden ? at the shirehall in the Town of Carmarthen in and for the said county in the week next after the Epiphany.  To wit on Wednesday the Twelfth day of January in the Fifty fourth year of the reign of his Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the faith and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and fourteen.  Before Charles Morgan and John Jones Esquires and others their Companions justices of our said Lord the King assigned to keep the peace in the said County And Also to ? the ??? by the oath of Good and lawfull men of the said County by whom the Truth of the matter may be better known Concerning all and all manner of Felonies Poisonings ? Sorceries by Magic Trespasses Forestalling Regratings Ingrossings and Extortions whatsoever and of all and singular the Crimes and Offences of which the said Justices of the peace of the said Sovereign Lord the King might or ? lawfully to Enquire by whomsoever and after what manner soever in the said county done or perpetrated and to hear and determine the said felonies and premises according to the Laws and Statutes of England.  By the oath of William Davies, David Griffiths, David James, Evan Evans, Thomas Evans, Lewis Jones, Thos Thomas, Thomas Nichols, Thomas Williams, Henry Jones, Rees Davies, Timothy Davies, William Lloyd, John Morgans and Rees Jones  Gentlemen good and lawfull men of the county aforesaid then and there Impannelled sworn and charged to Enquire the Truth for our said Lord the King and the Body of the County aforesaid.  It is presented in manner and form following, that is to say Carmarthenshire to wit.  The Jurors for our Lord the King upon their Oath present that William Abel of the Village of Llanybree in the parish of Llanstephan in the County of Carmarthen Farmer on the third day of January in the fifty fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Defender of the faith was possessed of a certain messuage Tenement or Chapel with the appurtenances situate and being in the Village of Llanybree in the said parish of Llanstephan in the County of Carmarthen aforesaid for a certain Term of Years when of divers (to wit) seven years were then to come and are still unexpired and being so possessed thereof Evan John late of the parish of Llanstephan aforesaid farmer William Williams the Elder late of the same Farmer William Williams late of the parish of Llangunnock in the County of Carmarthen aforesaid farmer afterwards ?? the said Third day of January in the year aforesaid into the said messuage Tenement or Chapel with the appurtenances aforesaid in the Village of Llanybree in the said parish and county aforesaid with force and arms and with strong hand unlawfully did enter and the said William Abel from the peaceable possession of the said messuage Tenement or Chapel with the appurtenances aforesaid then and there with force and arms and with strong hand unlawfully did expel and put out the said William Abel from the possession thereof so as aforesaid with force and arms and with strong hand being unlawfully expelled and put out the said Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams him the said William Abel from the aforesaid third day of January in the year aforesaid until the day of the taking of this ? from the possession of the said messuage Tenement or Chapel with the appurtenances aforesaid with force and arms and with strong hand unlawfully and injuriously then and there did keep out and still do keep out ???? of the said William Abel against the form of the Statute in such case made and provided and against the peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity Morgan clerk of the peace Prosecutor William Abel  Witnesses John Evans, Benjamin Lewis, John Thomas sworn in Court John L Rees.  A True Bill as in and by the said Indictment hereunto annexed manifestly appears And whereas on the Twenty Second day of January in the Fifty fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord the King.  Before John Jones Esquire one of His Majesty Justices of the peace in and for the said ? County of Carmarthen did William Williams the younger for himself Together with David Richards of the parish of Llanybree in the County of Carmarthen farmer and George Philipps of the County of the Borough of Carmarthen Gentleman ?? acknowledged a certain Recognizance to our Sovereign Lord the King and therby acknowledged themselves respectively to our said Sovereign Lord the King that is to say the said William Williams the younger in the sum of Twenty Pounds and the said David Richard and George Philipps in the sum of Ten Pounds each of lawfull money of Great Britain to be made and levied of their goods and chattels Land and Tenements in case Defunct should be made in the Condition thereof that is to say, that the said William Williams the Younger should be and appear at the first General Quarter Sessions of the peace to be held in ? the said County and Traverse quash or submit to and Indictment Prefered against ? at the prosecution of William Abel for a [rest of the line is illegible] Recognizance to be ? or else to remain in full force and virtue.  And whereas on the Twenty Sixth day of February in the Fifty fourth year of the Sovereign Lord and Before William? Esquire ? of His Majestys Justices of the peace in and for the said County cause the said Evan John and William Williams the Elder for themselves together with Joseph David of ? of Llanybree in the County of Carmarthen ? with acknowledged a certain Recognizance to our Sovereign Lord the King and thereby acknowledged themselves respectively to owe to our said Sovereign Lord the King ?? the ? Evan John and William Williams the Elder ? the sum of Twenty Pounds each and the said Joseph David in the sum of Ten Pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be made and levied of their Goods and Chattles Land and Tenements [several words illegible] that is to say that the said Evan John and William Williams the Elder should be an appear at the then next General Quarter Sessions of the peace to be holden in and for the [several words illegible] preferred against them at the prosecution of William Abel for a forcible Entry.  And should not depart therefrom without leave of the Court.  Then the said Recognizance to be void or else to [several words illegible] sessions of the peace of our sovereign Lord the King at the Shirehall in the Town of Carmarthen ?? for the said County in the week next after the Close of Easter to wit on Wednesday the Twentieth day of April in the Fifty fourth year [rest of line illegible] Vaughan Horton and William Lewis Esquires and ?? fellow justices of Our Said Lord the King assigned to keep the peace in the said county and also to hear and determine diverse felonies [rest of line illegible] on Tuesday the Twenty Sixth day of April aforesaid and in the said year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and fourteen.  Before Vaughan Horton, John Williams Hughes ???? justices aforesaid ? the said Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams the Younger ??? persons together with three pledges and in due force of law confessed and acknowledged the Recognizance following the [several words illegible] on the Twenty ? day of April ?? our ? Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith.  Evan John of the parish of Llanstephan in the said county Farmer William Williams [several words illegible] of the same parish farmer John ? of the same parish farmer and James ??? farmer personally came before the justices of the peace of the said County of Carmarthen in their Court of Quarter Sessions held at Carmarthen and acknowledged themselves to owe to William Abel the [several words] several goods and ???? upon the condition ???? according to the Statute in ?? made and prevailed Whereas the above ? Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams [several words illegible] justices and ? in the said Court of Quarter Sessions [several words illegible] William Abel upon the prosecution of the said William Abel and whereas the said Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams farmer leave obtained [rest of line illegible] of the said Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams farmer ?? of them shall be convicted ? the said ? indictment then the Said Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams [rest of line and beginning of next line illegible] justices of the peace of the said County of Carmarthen being where such ? hath ? The Jurors for our Lord the King Upon their Oath present That William Abel of the Village of Llanybree in the parish of Llanstephan in the county of Carmarthen farmer on the third day of January in the fifty fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Defender of the faith was possessed of a certain Messuage Tenement or Chapel with the appurtenances Situate and being in the village of Llanybree in the said parish of Llanstephan in the County of Carmarthen aforesaid for a certain Term of Years whereof divers (to wit) Seven Years then to come and are still unexpired and being so possessed thereof Evan John late of the parish of Llanstephan aforesaid farmer, William Williams the Elder late of the same Farmer and William Williams late of the parish of Llangunnock in the County of Carmarthen aforesaid Farmer afterwards to wit on the said third day of January in the Year aforesaid into the said Messuage Tenement or Chapel with the appurtenances aforesaid in the village of Llanybree in the said parish and county aforesaid with force and arms and with strong hand unlawfully did enter and the said William Abel from the aforesaid of the said Messuage  Tenement or Chapel with the appurtenances aforesaid then and there with force and arms and with strong hand unlawfully did expel and put out and the said William Abel from the possession thereof so as [?] with force and arms and with strong hand being unlawfully expelled and put out the said Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams him the said William Abel from the aforesaid third day of January in the year aforesaid until the day of the taking of this Inquisition from the possession of the said Messuage Tenement or Chapel with the appurtenances aforesaid with force and arms and with strong hand unlawfully and injuriously then and there did keep out still do keep out to the great Damage of the said William Abel against the [?] of the Statutes [?] case made and provided and against the peace of our said Lord the King his Crown and Dignity.

County of Carmarthen} Be it Remembered that on the Twenty Seventh day of April in the
         to wit                               fifty fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the             third by the grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the faith Evan John of the parish of Llanstephan in the said County farmer, William Williams of the same place the Elder, Joseph David of the same parish farmer, John Howells of the same parish farmer and James Lewis of the same parish farmer personally came before the Justices of the peace of the said County of Carmarthen in their Court of Quarter Sessions held at Carmarthen and acknowledged themselves to owe to William Abel the prosecutor of the Bill of Indictment herin after mentioned the Sum of Ten pounds to be made and levied of their several goods and Chattels Lands and Tenements to the use or upon the Condition hereinafter written or subscribed according to the Statute [?] Case made and provided -

Whereas the above bounden Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams of the parish of Llangunnock in the said county farmer stand indicted in the said Court of Quarter Sessions for a forcible Entry upon the possession of the said William Abel upon the prosecution of the said William Abel and whereas the said Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams farmer have obtained his Majesty’s writ of Certiorari for removing the said Indictment to his Majesty’s Court of Great Sessions for the said County of Carmarthen.

The Condition of this Recognizance or Obligation is such that if the said Evan John, William Williams the Elder and William Williams farmer or one or any of them shall be convicted upon the said Bill of Indictment then if the said Evan John, William Williams the Elder, William Williams farmer, Joseph David, John Howells and James Lewis or one of them shall within one month after such conviction pay unto the said William Abel such reasonable costs and damages as the Justices of the peace of the said County of Carmarthen, being whom such Bill hath been found in their sessions of the peace shall assess or allow then this recognizance or obligation shall be void or else remain in full form and effect.
