The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Llanwrdda contained the following places:

"LLANWRDDA, a parish in the hundred of Cayo, county Carmarthen, 4 miles S.W. of Llandovery, its post town, 8 N.E. of Llandilo Fawr, and 2 from Glanrhyd station. It is situated in a glen watered by the river Towey, which is crossed about 2 miles from the village by a suspension bridge of 225 feet span. The living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage* of Llansadwrn, in the diocese of St. Asaph. In charities this parish shares with Llansadwrn. A fair is held on the 5th October."
