The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Llansaintffraid Glyn Ceiriog contained the following places:

"LLANSAINTFFRAID-GLYN-CEIRIOG, a parish in the hundred of Chirk, county Denbigh, 2 miles S. of Llangollen, its post town, and 8 N.W. of Oswestry. It is situated on the river Ceiriog, and includes the townships of Glyn-Fechan, Nantyr, and Lavan, Isaf and Uchaf. The neighbourhood is hilly, and slate is obtained. The manufacture of flannel is carried on. The living is a perpetual curacy* in the diocese of St. Asaph, value £200. The church is dedicated to St. Bridget. The charities amount to about £10 per annum. Fairs are held on 4th May and 6th October."

"GLYN-FECHAN, a township in the parish of Llansaintffraid-Glyn-Ceiriog, county Denbigh, 3 miles S.E. of Llangollen. The river Cerriog flows through the parish."

"ISAF and UCHAF NANTYR, townships in the parish of Llansaintffraid-Glyn-Ceiriog, county Denbigh, 2 miles S. of Llangollen.

"TRALLWYN, a township in the parish of Llansaintffraid-glyn-ceiriog, county Denbigh, 2 miles S.E. of Conway."

"TRE BWLL, a township in the parish of Llansaintffraid-glyn-ceiriog, county Denbigh, 2 miles S.E. of Conway."
