The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Llannefydd contained the following places:

"LLANNEFYDD, (or Llan-ufydd), a parish in the hundred of Isaled, county Denbigh, 6 miles N.W. of Denbigh, its post town, and 5 from St. Asaph. It is situated in the vicinity of the river Elwy, on the Aled brook. The parish includes ten townships, of which Benaighn and Berron are the principal. The village is considerable. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of St. Asaph, value £228, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is dedicated to St. Nevydd. Fairs are held on the 18th March, 12th May, 14th August, and 20th November for cattle.

"BODYS-GAW, (and Bodys Gawen) townships, in the parish of Llannefydd, hundred of Isaled, in the county of Denbigh, North Wales, 5 miles to the N.W. of Denbigh.

"CARREDFYNYDD, a township in the parish of Llannefydd, hundred of Isaled, in the county of Denbigh, North Wales, 5 miles to the N.W. of Denbigh."

"DINAS GADFEL, a township in the parish of Llannefydd, in the county of Denbigh, 4 miles N.W. of Denbigh."

"LLECHRYD-TY-CELYN, a township in the parish of Llannefydd, county Denbigh, 5 miles N.W. of the town of Denbigh."

"MOFONIOG, a township in the parish of Llannefydd, county Denbigh, 5 miles N.W. of Denbigh. It is situated on the river Elwy."

"PENFRON-CHILL, a township in the parish of Llannefydd, county Denbigh, 5 miles N.W. of Denbigh."

"TALY-Y-BRYN, a township in the parish of Llannefydd, county Denbigh, 5 miles N.W. of Denbigh."
