CADOXTON JUXTA BARRY. We are sorry to state that a malignant Typhus fever has broken out in this village, and there are about a dozen persons at present lying dangerously ill. On Sunday last the daughter of Mr. Job David, William the Fourth, died from the disease after a short illness. It is to be feared that the sanitary state of the place has been shamefully neglected; carcases of horses, pigs, and sheep, have been allowed to putrify in the open air, for several months. This of itself is enough to create a fever. The stench arising from them is abominable. It is to be hoped that measures will be taken to compel parties to bury dead animals, instead of allowing them to poison the atmosphere. The inspector of nuisances ought to look into these matters.

SIXTY SHEEP DROWNED. On Monday morning last 82 sheep, the property of Mr. Thomas Jones, Weston Farm Cadoxton, strayed to the beach, and became surrounded by the tide. Sixty-two of the animals were drowned but the remaining 20 escaped by climbing upon a narrow shelf on the side of the cliff.

CADOXTON-JUXTA-BARRY. HARVEST.—The harvest for the present year is over. The excellent weather has enabled the farmers to secure the crops in prime condition.

LAST week this village and neighbourhood were thrown into a state of excitement by the startling report that a grave had been discovered in the corner of a field near the village. It turned out that there was some foundation for the report. The excavation, being upwards of a yard in length and about a yard deep, resembled a grave. When discovered it was filled up, and, suspicion having been aroused, it was determined to have it opened. Nothing, however, was found in it. It has naturally been the subject of much conversation, and many different conjectures, it being generally resolved that a foul deed had been contemplated. It is now suggested that the supposed grave was dug by some persons in search of rabbits.
