The church became an ecumenical partnership in the 1970's when the last non conformist church remaining in the town closed (The Limes Presbyterian Church). Cowbridge had historically boasted a large number of such chapels - Wesleyan Methodlist, Congregational, Presbyterian, English Baptist and a number of others and as each closed they merged with one nearby. What had been Ramoth Baptist Chapel (which had in its very early years been a Welsh chapel) then became the only non conformist church in the town and the name changed to Cowbridge United Free Church. Today it has a thriving congregation of people from all denominations and none including all those mentioned above plus URC, Anglican Catholic, Quaker, Pentecostal, Apostolic and many others. Family worship in the mornings attracts between 50 and 120 people and the quieter evening worship is a smaller service. Significant renovation has taken place in recent years. The church is grade 2 listed. (Source: Revd Heather Weddell)
