"A parish on the Ewenny river near Bridgend, notable as the site of a Benedictine priory founded in 1140 by Maurice de Londres. The church remains almost intact and is a fine example of Norman work. The gateway and portions of the external wall of the monastry also survive." [Glamorganshire, 1911]
