In 1868, the parish of Llanddewi contained the following places:
"LLANDDEWI, (or Llandewy), a parish in the hundred of Swansea, county Glamorgan, 13 miles S.W. of Swansea, and 5 from Penrice, its post town. It is situated to the E. of Rhosili Bay. A castle formerly stood here. The village consists of a few farmhouses, The living is a vicarage in the diocese of St. David's, value £71, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is dedicated to St. David.
