In 1868, the parish of Llantwit juxta Neath contained the following places:

"LLANTWIT-JUXTA-NEATH, (or Llantwit-juxta-Neath), a parish in the hundred of Neath, county Glamorgan, 1 mile E. of Neath, its post town, and 7 miles from Swansea. It is situated on the river Neath, and is crossed by the Neath canal. The parish contains the hamlets of Clyne and Resolven. The inhabitants are chiefly engaged in mining and in the collieries. The living is a curacy annexed to the rectory* of Neath, in the diocese of Llandaff. The charities produce about £2, the endowment of Griffiths' almshouses.

"CLYNE, a hamlet in the parish of Llantwit-juxta-Neath, hundred of Neath, in the county of Glamorgan, 1½ mile N.E. of Neath, its post town, and 4 from Swansea."

"MELIN CURT, a fall of the river Cleddau, in the parish of Llantwit-juxta-Neath, county Glamorgan, 5 miles N.E. of Neath."

"RESOLVEN, a hamlet in the parish of Llantwit-juxta-Neath, hundred of Neath, county Glamorgan, 2 miles E. of Neath. It is situated in the vale of the river Neath. The inhabitants are chiefly employed in the collieries."
