The War Memorial stands outside All Saints' Church in the Parish of Newton Nottage, Porthcawl.
Contributed by Brian Comley, 2001
There are 119 names in all: 77 from WW1 and 42 from WW2.
The memorial reads:
"Erected by public subscription to the glorious memory of those men from this parish who gave their lives for their country in the Great War 1914 - 1918 and 1939 - 1945".
1914 - 1918
1939 - 1945
I also observed that at the end of the list of names for WW1 there are two names added for WW2, viz.
Pte. A.J. DAVIES and C.F.N. G.T. DUDDRIDGE;
Also two names out of alphabetical order at the end of the list of names for WW2, viz.
Tpr. W.M. STARK and M/N R. JEFFERY.
I assume that these names must have been notified after the original list of names had been prepared. For ease of reference I have included these in their correct alphabetical order.
