ST. ATHAN. FATALITY TO A LABOURER.—An inquest was held at Castleton Farm, St. Athan, on Wednesday last-before Mr E. B. Reece, coroner-on the body of a young man named James Plank, a farm labourer, in the employ of Mr Iltyd Williams, Castleton Farm, St. Athan. It appears that deceased was unloading a load of barley from a wagon. He was on the top of the wagon, and slid down a pole near the rick. ST. ATHAN. SOUTH GLAMORGAN REPRESENTATION. Mr W. Brace, the Liberal-Labour candidate for South Glamorgan, addressed a well-attended meeting at St. Athan on Tuesday evening last. On the proposition of Mr W. Searle, seconded by Mr W. Hopkins, a resolution was passed condemnatory of the Government and Mr Chamberlain's fiscal policy.

ST. ATHAN. MILDNESS OF THE WEATHER.—A correspondent writes —The weather has been exceedingly mild here this season. Last week a gentleman picked in a field some cowslips, looking as fresh and as healthy as the pretty little flower does in the summer months. The grass is growing just as it generally grows in the months of April and May. Farmers, who were much alarmed at the commencement of winter, owing to the scarcity of fodder, have had their fears set at rest by the extraordinary mild weather which we have so far had, and subsequently animals have remained out much longer than usual.
