Brynmenin in the Parish of St. Brides Minor

"BRYNMENYN is a hamlet one mile from Tondu partly in this parish and partly in that of Llangeinor with a station on the Great Western railway, which is also the junction of the Garw Valley and the Ogmore Valley branches. The Garw and Ogmore Gas Co works here, opened 1913, and supply Ogmore and Pontycymmer. There is a Welsh Congregational chapel erected in 1817, with 320 sittings, and a Methodist chapel, erected in 1915. In this place are the offices of the Ogmore and Garw Urban District Council. colliery rescue station was erected here in 1914 for training rescue parties for the various collieries of Ogmore and Garw.
