The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of St Brides Super Ely contained the following places:

"ST. BRIDE'S SUPER-ELY, a parish in the hundred of Dings Powis, in the county of Glamorgan, South Wales, 4 miles to the W. of Llandaff: It lies on the banks of the small river Ely (from which it takes the addition to its name), not far from the South Wales railway. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Llandaff, of the value with that of Michaelston united to it, of £195, in the patronage of L. Traherne, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. St. Ynill is one of the chief residences.
