    •  From the Weekly Mail 21st June 1884

ST. GEORGE'S-SUPER-ELY. AMATEUR CONCERT.—On Thursday an amateur concert was given at the Home Farm, Coedriglan. An attractive programme resulted in a crowded audience, numbers being unable to find seats. The solos were sung by Miss Bruce (Duffryn), Miss M. Booker, Miss Baillie, Miss C. Lynch Blosse, Mrs. Jones, and Mrs. Howell; and Messrs. S. Jones, Hopkins, Ellis, Howell, and Vickary. Four glees and a quartette for male voices were given in a most satisfactory manner by the Coedriglan Glee Party, and great credit is due to the conductor, Mr. S. Jones, an old member of Caradoc's Choir. The entertainment concluded with a sparkling dramatic performance by Miss Booker, Miss M. Booker, and Miss Nicholl (Merthyr Mawr), which brought down thunders of applause.

    •  From the Barry Dock News 21st October 1892

ST. GEORGE'S-SUPER-ELY. THE HARVEST FESTIVAL at the above Church was held on Thursday and Friday week last. The Church had been very prettily decorated, the lectern and font covers receiving a considerable amount of attention. The Rector, the Rev J. Sinnett Jones, M.A., intoned the service, while the preacher was the Rev R. E. Rowlands, M.A., of Pontypridd. Mr Poole ably presided at the harmonium. The service on Friday was in Welsh, and the Rev Theophilus Rees, Pentyrch, was the preacher. There were crowded congregations at each service.

    • From The Cardiff Times 28th June 1879

ST GEORGE'S SUPER ELY. THE SCHOOLS.—On Monday the Diocesan Inspector of Schools, the Rev Mr Greenhow, inspected the children in the religious training. There were only three children absent, and the inspector said he was exceedingly well satisfied. The Rev G. Harries, rector of St. Bride's and Michaelstone Super Ely, who superintends the school for Mrs Traherne throughout the year, was present in her behalf, as she was unavoidably absent, being from home. This is one of the four private schools that this philanthropic lady has entirely maintained for the last fifty years.

    • From The Western Mail 8th November 1884

THE LIVING OF ST. GEORGE'S-SUPER-ELY. TO THE EDITOR OF THE " WESTERN MAIL,"

"Sir,—It is generally rumoured that the living of St, George's-super-Ely has been offered by the patron to an Englishman quite ignorant of the Welsh language, and that he is about to I accept it, provided the Bishop of the Diocese sanctions the appointment. It is to be hoped, however, for the interest of the Church in the Principality, that his lordship will not tolerate such injustice during his episcopate   .....(part extract).....

    I am, &c., PARISHIONER. "
