In 1841, the population of the entire hundred of Llangyfelach can be summarised as:
  • Houses - 3,079 inhabited, 180 uninhabited, 62 being built
  • Population - 7,811 male, 7,771 females (total of 15, 582)
  • Under 20 years of age - 4,091 males, 3,961 females.
  • 20 years and upwards - 3,720 males, 3,810 females.
  • Born in Glamorgan - 6,470 males, 6,710 females (total of 13,180)
