"LLANDRILLO, a parish in the hundred of Edernion, county Merioneth, 5 miles S.W. of Corwen, its post town, and 7 N.E. of Bala. It is situated in a vale at the foot of the Berwyn mountains, near the pass known as Milltir Gerrig, and is watered by the river Dee. The parish includes several townships, of which Cilan and Dinam are the principal, and the glen of the Afon Dinam. Slate quarries are worked. The tithes were commuted in 1840. The rectorial tithes are vested in the ecclesiastical commissioners. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of St. Asaph, value £302, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is an ancient edifice, dedicated to St. Trillo. The charities amount to about £3 per annum. Here is a cromlech and other Druidical remains. Description from the Archives Network Wales site;-
"Thirteen diaries, 1898, 1912-1919, 1922-1923, 1927 and 1930 and 11 pocket note books. Although the entries in the diaries are sparse, a surprising amount of information can be gathered from them. There are details of chapel meetings, local events, the weather, planting of vegetables, books borrowed. The effect of the First World War comes to light as Evan T. Davies refers to Llywelyn (possibly his son) returning home from Ypres.The note books are difficult to decipher and contain lists of books, lines of poetry, names and address and rough notes in general, written in Welsh, English and French."
