The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Gumfreston contained the following places:

"GUMFRESTON, a parish in the hundred of Narberth, county Pembroke, South Wales, 2 miles W. of Tenby, its post town, and S.E. of Pembroke. Here are fine chalybeate waters. The village is small and chiefly agricultural. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of St. David's, value £141. The church is an ancient edifice, surrounded by a grove of trees."
