The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Lawrenny contained the following places:

"LAWRENNY, a parish in the hundred of Narberth, county Pembroke, 4 miles N.E. of Pembroke, its post town. It is situated near Milford-Haven, where are excellent oyster-beds. The inhabitants are chiefly engaged in the coal and culm trade. The land is good, with subsoil limestone. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St. David's, value £168. The church is an ancient structure, dedicated to St. Caradoo. The parochial charities produce about £30 per annum. Lawrenny Hall is the principal residence."
