The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Llanychaer contained the following places:
"LLANYCHAER, (or Llanerchaur), a parish in the hundred of Kemess, county Pembroke, 3 miles S.E. of Fishguard, its post town, and 6 S.W. of Newport. It is situated on the river Gwayne, S. of Fishguard Bay. The surface is hilly, and a considerable portion in pasture. The village consists of a few farmhouses. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St. David's, value £69. The church is dedicated to St. David.
