The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Rosemarket contained the following places:

"ROSEMARKET, (or Rhosmarket), a parish in the hundred of Roose, county Pembroke, 4 miles from Milford, its post town, and 5 N.W. of Pembroke. The village, which is of small extent, is situated upon the edge of a well-wooded vale, and is watered by a small rivulet. In the neighbourhood are the ruins of an old mansion, where Lucy Walters, mother of the Duke of Monmouth, was born. The living is a vicarage* in the diocese of St. David's, value £96. The church is dedicated to St. Ishmael.
