In the past we used to control table column width via style tags within the html but current wisdom is that this should be done via style sheets and as a result this tag has been blocked and is removed by the editor. We do have an alternative way of specifying the width of columns which does use style sheets.

To do this create a table in the normal way, then click anywhere within the table. Then click styles in the editor toolbar above the Content field which will show a number of styles you can apply. Under 'Object styles' you will see 'Table width 100%' and if you select this styling will be added to the table to make it occupy the full width. If you click a particular column in your table you can then again using styling to apply a column width from those in the menu.
