Welcome to Genuki, ENG, Nottinghamshire Provided by: John Mellors Everton Church was re-seated and partially restored in the year 1869 at a cost of £750 raised by voluntary subscriptions; and was reopened on the 10th Aug in the same year when the Bp of Lincoln (WORDSWORTH) preached. Also a stained glass window was placed in the tower where previously there was a small door. A small new organ was first used at this re-opening. Wm METCALFE vicar ========= In the year 1872 a new peal of 6 bells were put up, (cast by TAYLOR of Loughborough). The difference in value between the old three bells and the six new ones about £160 being defrayed by George W SMITH Esq of Everton; and the cost of hanging (about £100) being met by private subscriptions.
