SNAILWELL:

"SNAILWELL, a parish in the hundred of STAPLOE, county of CAMBRIDGE, 2 miles (N.) from Newmarket, containing 222 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £27-11-0., and in the patronage of the Trustees of the late J. Tharp, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Peter."
