The Exeter and Dartmouth Road
Trans. Devon. Assoc. 44, (1912), pp. 597-604.
by
T J. Joce
Prepared by Michael Steer
The paper, presented at the Association's, July 1912 Exeter meeting takes its reader on a journey from Exeter to Dartmouth along the ancient track that was once the major highway. The course of the road today differs almost entirely from that of olden times and over the centuries the towns and villages along the way have altered almost beyond recognition. Its author was an authority on Devon's ancient roads with the British & Irish Archaeological Bibliography providing references to six of his publications on that topic. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. The copy of this rare book is held at the Princeton University Library and is available from Internet Archive.
