It is a meet for Mr. Scotland's harriers. The tithes have been commuted for a rent-charge of £240, and the glebe comprises 7 acres. The living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage* of Bishop's Sutton, in the diocese of Winchester. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, has a wooden tower containing five bells. It is an ancient structure, but was restored and enlarged in 1848. There is a National school for this parish and that of Bishop's Sutton. Dr. Sutton, Archbishop of Canterbury, was born in this parish." [Description(s) from The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland (1868) - Transcribed by Colin Hinson ©2003]

You can also perform a more selective search for churches in the area that are recorded in the GENUKI church database. This will also help identify churches in nearby townships and/or parishes. You also have the option to see the location of the churches marked marked on a map.

If you keep this page loaded for a very long time and the database is updated since loading it, the church links above may become stale and may display the wrong church. If this happens, reloading this page will correct them.
