"WORMSLEY, a parish in the hundred of Grimsworth, county Hereford, 3½ miles S.E. of Weobly, 8 N.W. of Hereford, and 5 N.W. of Moreton railway station. The village is situated on the road from Weobly to Hereford, and commands a view of the Malvern and Clee hills. In the reign of John, Gilbert Talbot founded the priory of St. Leonard in this parish for canons of the order of St. Augustine. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Hereford, value £75. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. Sir W. R. Boughton, Bart., is lord of the manor."
