"STILTON, (Huntingdonshire) to the S.W. of Yaxley, on the Roman highway from Castor to Huntington, called Ermin-Street, some parts of which in this neighbourhood appear still paved with stone. This place is famous for cheese, which is called English Parmesan, and is brought to table full of mites, or maggots; Mr. Cotton is Ld. of the manor. Here is a ch. sc."
