"SHREWSBURY ST. MARY, a parish in the town of Shrewsbury."

" ALBRIGHTON, a parish in the hundred of PIMHILL, county of SALOP, 4 miles (N.) from Shrewsbury, containing 75 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, within the jurisdiction of the court of the royal peculiar of St. Mary's, Shrewsbury, endowed with £800 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Lichfield. The church is dedicated to St. John."

" ASTLEY, a chapelry in that part of the parish of Shrewsbury St. MARY, which is within the liberties of SHREWSBURY, county of SALOP, 5 miles (N. N. E.) from Shrewsbury, containing 204 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, within the jurisdiction of the court of the royal peculiar of St. Mary in Shrewsbury, and in the patronage of the Perpetual Curate of that parish."

" CLIVE, a chapelry in that part of the parish of Shrewsbury St. Mary, which is within the liberties of the town of SHREWSBURY, county of SALOP, 3 miles (S.) from Wem, containing 306 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, within the jurisdiction of the court of the royal peculiar of St. Mary, in Shrewsbury, endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Mayor and Head-master of the free grammar school of Shrewsbury. The chapel is dedicated to All Saints. William Wycherley, the poet and comic writer, was born here, in 1640."
