"WILLEY, a parish within the liberties of the borough of WENLOCK, county of SALOP, 4 miles (N. W. by N.) from Bridgenorth, containing 155 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £5. 6, 3., and in the patronage of Lord Forester. The church is dedicated to St. John the. Baptist."
