"BRADLEY, a parish in the west division of the hundred of Cuttlestone, in the county of Stafford, 4 miles to the S.W. of Stafford; Penkridge is its post town. The London and North-Western railway runs near it.

The liberties of Billington and Woollaston are included in this parish. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Lichfield, worth £75, in the patronage of the Duke of Sutherland. The church is dedicated to All Saints. There is a chapel belonging to the Wesleyans, and a free grammar school of ancient date, which has an income from endowment of £132 per annum. There are other parochial charities worth about £10 a year."
