"COPPENHALL, a chapelry in the parish of Penkridge, eastern division of the hundred of Cuttlestone, in the county of Stafford, 3 miles N.W. of Penkridge, and 2 S. of Stafford.

The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Lichfield, value £85, in the patronage of Lord Hatherton. The chapel, dedicated to St. Lawrence, is a small ancient structure. Lord Stafford is lord of the manor."
