OFFLEY, HIGH (ST. MARY), a parish, in the union of NEWPORT, N. division of the hundred of PIREHILL and of the county of STAFFORD, 4 miles (S.W.) from Eccleshall; containing 658 inhabitants. The Birmingham and Liverpool canal passes through the parish. 

The living is a vicarage, valued in the king's books at £6.6.0.; net income, £313; patron, Bishop of Lichfield; impropriator, Sir Thomas Broughton. The church is an ancient edifice, neatly pewed with oak.
