Topographical Dictionary of England, Samuel Lewis - 1859

STAFFORD (ST CHAD): The living of St. Chad's is a perpetual curacy; net income, £85; patron and appropriator, the Prebendary of Frees in the Cathedral of Lichfield.

The church is a small edifice, originally in the Norman style, with a tower of the later English, between the chancel and nave; the chancel is still in good preservation, and, with the exception of a modern east window, retains its original character; but the nave is of more recent date.
