TREDINGTON, Warwickshire

"TREDINGTON, a parish in the upper division of Oswaldslow hundred, county Worcester, locally in Warwickshire, 2 miles N. of Shipston, its post town, and 9 from Stratford-upon-Avon. It is situated on the river Stour, and previous to 1833 included the townships of Blackwell, Darlingscott, Armscott, and Newbold, but the two last were then formed into a distinct parish by Act of Parliament. The surface is generally level, and the soil partly sandy and partly clayey. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Worcester, value £539, in the patronage of Jesus College, Cambridge. The church is dedicated to St. Gregory. The parochial charities produce about £59 per annum, of which £50 go to Jordan's school."
