"NEWLAND, a chapelry in the parish of Great Malvern, lower division of Pershore hundred, county Worcester, 2 miles N.E. of Great Malvern, its post town, and 5 S. of Worcester. This place was formerly a grange to Malvern Priory. The land is partly in hop-grounds. The impropriation belongs to Lady Gresley. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Worcester, value £60, in the patronage of the Vicar of Great Malvern. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, is a small brick and timber structure. Earl Beauchamp is lord of the manor."
