In 1868, the parish of Baldoyle contained the following places:

"BALDOYLE, a parish in the barony of Coolock, in the county of Dublin, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles to the N.E. of Dublin. It occupies a pleasant spot on the coast of the Irish Sea, opposite Ireland's Eye, and is resorted to as a watering-place. It is a station on the Drogheda railway. The population are chiefly engaged in the fishery. The harbour is a creek capable of admitting only small vessels. Here are a coastguard and a chief police station. The living is a perpetual curacy, part of the union of Howth. There are ruins of the ancient church, pleasantly embosomed in trees, and a holy well which the peasants like to visit on the Eve of St. John. The principal residences are Donaghmede Talavera, and Grange Lodge."
