In 1868, the parish of Killeely contained the following places:

"KILLEELY, (or Killily), a parish in the barony of Dunkellin, county Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 5 miles S.E. of Oranmore. Loughrea is its post town. The parish is 4 miles square. The surface is rocky, with limestone subsoil. It is traversed by the road from Loughrea to Kilcolgan. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kilmacduagh, value with Kilcolgan, £275, in the patronage of the bishop. There area Roman Catholic chapel, and four or five day schools. The chief seats are Carrigeen, Larkvale and Rahasane.
