In 1868, the parish of Ballynahaglish contained the following places:

"BALLYNAHAGLISH, a parish in the barony of Trughanacmy, in the county of Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles to the W. of Tralee. It is situated on the north shore of Tralee Bay, and contains the villages of Chapeltown and Kilfinura. It is frequented as a watering place. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Limerick, Ardfert, and Aghadoe, of the value, with two others, of £717, in the patronage of Sir E. Denny, Bart. At Kilfinura is a coastguard station."

"CHAPELTOWN, a village in the parish of Ballynahaglish, barony of Trughanacmy, in the county of Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland. It is upwards of 4 miles to the N.W. of Tralee."

"KILFINURA, a fishing village in the parish of Ballynahaglish, barony of Trughanacmy, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles W. of Tralee. It is a pilot and coastguard station."

"SPA, a hamlet and watering-place in the parishes of Ballynahaglish and Clogherbrien, barony of Trughanacmy, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 2¾ miles W.N.W. of Tralee."
