In 1868, the parish of Kilcredane contained the following places:

"KILCREDANE, a parish in the barony of Magunihy, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles N. of Killarney. Milltown is its post town. It is about 1 mile square, and consists of a soil varying in quality. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ardfert and Aghadoe, value with Molahiffe, £285. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to those of Molahiffe and Kilbonane. There are two hedge-schools."
