In 1868, the parish of Scullogestown contained the following places:"SCULLOGESTOWN, a parish in the barony of Ikeathy, county Kildare, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles S.W. of Kilcock, its post town. It is situated in the Bog of Allen. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kildare, value with Kilcock £320, in the patronage of the crown. Hortland House is the seat of Sir J. W. Hort, Bart.
