The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Ballytobin contained the following places:"BALLYTOBIN, a parish in the barony of Kells in the county of Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland 3 miles to the S. of Callan. The living is a rectory united with the vicarage of Kells, in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin. Ballytobin House is a very old mansion seated in a well wooded demesne to which a deer park is attached."
